Visit the Bosque Nuevo Butterfly Farm
The “El Bosque Nuevo” butterfly farm is situated on 91 hectares of land along the road that leads to El Caoba, a community in the Santa Cecilia district. Since it is located on the slopes of the Volcán Orosi, the climate makes it an ideal site for growing pupae of different species of butterflies. This unique butterfly farm was established here for this very reason and has been operating for approximately seven years. Come see the incredible quantities of butterflies that fly in the surrounding jungle, which thrive in its cool mountain climate.
Our butterfly project, the Bosque Nuevo Butterfly Farm, involves teaching residents of our farm and the surrounding countryside how to sustainably grow and harvest butterfly pupae for sale in greenhouses around the world.
