Banana plantation houses
Most of the traditional Caribbean buildings have characteristics of the Victorian style, but are adapted to the Caribbean since these houses have to take the climate, ventilation and a good air circulation into account, as well as protection against the heat.
The houses built in the banana enclave of the United Fruit Company (UFCO). To this day, these dwellings are among the oldest examples of banana architecture preserved in the Atlantic region.
