How to get there
Land/sea route
1. La Pavona (most common and fastest route): from Guápiles to Cariari, then to the port of La Pavona to take a boat to the town of Tortuguero. It is preferable in a 4x4 vehicle (to be left at the port’s parking lot). Continuous public and private transportation service.
2. Caño Blanco: from Siquirres to the port in Caño Blanco, from there only private boat transportation is available to Tortuguero (previous reservations with boat transport companies).
3. Puerto Moín: private water transportation from Puerto Limón to Tortuguero.
Air route:
• Destination Tortuguero: flights offered by Costa Rican airlines and on their own schedules. The Tortuguero Regional Airport is located four kilometers north of the town of Tortuguero.
